Alone, Not Alone

Do you ever feel like this tree?

All alone.

No one standing with you?

Yes, this tree is all alone in this field. It’s not a majestic forest of like trees or even part of a clump of diverse trees.

All alone.

Yet, this tree placed here all alone may be a respite.

Perhaps a bird in flight needs a place to rest. A squirrel may find this tree as his only escape from a predator. A cow grazing in the field could find protection from the sun in the shade of this tree. A shelter for rain for any passing animal.

What looks like a lonely, less worthy tree could possibly be of more value than a volume of others.

Are you standing alone today in your beliefs, convictions or values?

Do you feel ostracized because you don’t agree or you won’t accept half-truths?

Does your relationship with Jesus cause you to not be able to agree and join camp with others?

Stand firm, stand-alone and stand in love.

Soon, you may become that respite for another.

You may be able to offer the Author of Rest to another weary soul.

You may be able to provide spiritual protection when a friend is deceived and looking for the truth.

You may be the place of shelter where someone will develop a relationship with you and find the true God of this world.

It’s OK to stand alone.

Besides, you are really never alone. Jesus stands with the trees.

Go out and be a tree.

2 Timothy 4:16,17 16 At my first defense no one stood with me, but all forsook me. May it not be charged against them.17 But the Lord stood with me and strengthened me, so that the message might be preached fully through me, and that all the Gentiles might hear. Also I was delivered out of the mouth of the lion.
