Thoughts from the Dental Chair While Under the Influence

I’m back in root canal territory for the third time in one month – more on that in a minute.

I’m a big fan of nitrous oxide in any dental chair that provides it. I never experienced it until a year or so ago.

While I’m totally enjoying the experience, I have many thoughts. Probably the most important is to keep my mouth open. Ever notice no matter how hard you try to keep your mouth open, it continually, slowly closes?  So, I’m always trying to keep it open to be more helpful.

Popcorn thoughts:

“This would have been great to have while raising the boys.”

“I need to open my mouth.”

“This could be such a great stress reducer.”

“If I used this, it could prevent a few arguments.”

“I need to open my mouth.”

“This could really help me fall asleep at night, I think.”

“A wiff of this before paying bills might help a little.”

“A “take along” container would have been great in the ER/Med Centers while waiting for stitches, broken bones, etc. while raising the four boys.”

“I need to open my mouth.”

“Dealing with the virus freaks stress could have lessened if I used this.”

“Farm meetings might feel less stressful if I came in attached to a tank.”

“When a piece of machinery breaks down and a little now and then while waiting for parts and the bill could be helpful.”

“I need to open my mouth.”

“Taking the sock, paper towel, shoe  . . . whatever away from Max for the umpteenth time might have been helpful.”

“Before going to the doctor for a checkup could be beneficial especially concerning blood pressure.”

“Before stepping on the scale at the doctors – it won’t change the numbers but I wouldn’t care.”

“I really need to open my mouth.”

A dose could have helped before asking “What did you do with your brother? Where did you put the cat? “Why are there fish swimming in the sink? Why can’t you keep the goat outside of the house?” and many more over the years of raising four boys.

Notice a four boys’ thread running through here? I could have gone through a “four boy bottle” a week I’m sure.

Back to why I’m back in the chair for basically a third root canal in one month. First root canal in December. A follow up – clean out the first one and repack the middle of January. Today almost another root canal at least in my mind. Take out packing, look in with a scope, repack. Apparently, a crack that I had has gotten larger – scan wasn’t conclusive, so a scope was needed to see if it was salvageable or needed to be pulled. My awesome dentist repacked and did some other things to try to save the tooth. He’s telling me there is a 25% chance the tooth can be saved. I’m praying for multiplication on that 25%!

Until then, I’m checking out on-line for some cheap happy air.
